Why?

You may be thinking why on earth another retro computing page???, well, just because I like old computer hardware. I'm doing this just for fun, so... why not???

Who am I?

I'm just an enthusiat who loves old computers, I've been playing with computers since 1982, the time when there were many different computers in the market, the time when 8bit computers were state of the art (al least for me! ;-), the time when there was some kind of magic on these machines, the time when you falled in love with your machine.

I personally love Commodore computers and I'm a big fan of them, although I think Commodore did and horrible job in marketing them but a spectacular job in the design board.

I have 8bit Commodore computers and 16/32 bit ones. Of course I'm talking about Commodore 64/128 and Amiga computers.

My collection is still small, I do not have many space for them!!, but I plan to make it bigger over the years as my storage space (and my wife :) permits me. I have just started the whole idea of collecting a couple of years ago and I have bought few computers.

  • 2005-01-31: My C64DTV is finally comming home!!!, woohooo!!!. Although many people already got it, it's not so easy to buy one on this part of the world.

    Commodore 64

The world famous Commodore 64 original breadbox with a C-1541 disk drive (NewTronics mechanism). I bought both in an online auction.

    Drean Commodore 64

I got this one for free, it's a Drean Commodore 64 very similar to the Aldi C64 (white keyboard)

    Drean Commodore 64C

I got this on an auction, it's a Drean Commodore 64C very similar to the Drean Commodore 64C but with a dark brown keyboard.

    Commodore 128 Image

    Commodore 128

I have bought it in DeRemate.com in 2002 and it was rather dirty and with sticky keys, probably some coffe was spilled over it, but with some dedication it now shines as brand new.
    I bought it with a 1571 disk drive, a C1902A color monitor and a MPS-1250 printer

    Commodore Amiga 500 Image

    Amiga 500

Bought it around 1988, and use it everyday, but I stored this computer in a closet, because I didn't know what to do with it when I bought my A1200, so this was not usefull for me anymore. Thanks God I have not sold it, now it's part of my collection and it's the very same machine I used mane years ago!!

    Commodore Amiga 1200 Image

    Amiga 1200

    • A1200 Console
    • MBX1230XA Accelerator with a 40MHz 68030 and 40MHz 68882 and 4 MB of RAM
    • External 3,5HD connected to the internal 2,5" port with a 2,5" => 3,5" adaptor
This was my last Commodore machine, I had bought it around 1992 I think, and was really impressive. Like the A500 I stored it when I finally gave up and bought a PC, sorry, but now it's part of my collection.

Note: The photographs have been taken from many places, I could have taken them myself, but I'm a bit lazy for that ;-) and I don't have a digital camera :-( I'm not trying to steal anybody, so if you find your photograph here and don't want it to be used here or want credit for it, please let me know.
